A few of my favorites

The Journal of Light Construction

The best value for education. JLC is written by men and woman who work exclusively on the job site. For the price of a couple of coffees a month you get access to the archives.

RR Buildings

I have followed Kyle on his Instagram page for a few years. His IG page and his YouTube page have a lot of great content. While it often doesn’t directly apply to me, I find that I look at my job differently when I see how other people work. Kyle happens to be a very good due as well.

THISisCarpentry

Gary Katz started this online magazine. “TiC is an interactive, multimedia e-magazine written BY carpenters, FOR carpenters.” I highly suggest this resource.

Fine Homebuilding YouTube

Years of high quality videos. It is worth going down the rabbit hole of content provided by FHB.

Fine Homebuilding Podcast

My dad has always believed that learning one thing makes the time or money spent well worth it. The Fine Homebuilding podcast does a good job of interviewing (I’m biased) authors and others in the industry as well as answering reader questions.

April Wilkerson

I have met few people with April’s work ethic. A few years back we met at an event and since then I have followed her on YouTube and Instagram. She puts her mind to something and just goes for it. I find that to be very motivating for me, and I think you will too.

A few more

This Old House

The quality of education and the engaging personalities make this an important resourse.

APA- The Engineered Wood Association

This is a non profit organization that works with manfacturers, scientists and engineers to promote solutions and improved processes for the industry.

Matt Risinger

I’ve been following Matt for a few years and he does an outstanding job of educating and promoting knowledge in residential construction. His channel will make you a better builder or trades person.

Tools of the Trade

Honest tool reviews for decades.
